Biblical

  Lesson

Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV

"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

All across the Old and New Testaments, the Bible talks about fear. Fear is not of God but from the enemy. Throughout life, fear will continue to attack us in different ways, but it is important to remember that God never asks us to handle it alone. God has continually called us to lean on Him.

In Deuteronomy, Moses and God's people are set to enter the promised land. Throughout the majority of the book, it is Moses describing how Israel has not been obeying God and vocalizing God's law to the people again. As we get near the end of the book, Moses' time is near the end and God has chosen Joshua to lead His people. This is part of Moses final remarks;

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.  And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

The same God that led the Israelites out of Egypt, across the Red Sea, and gave victory against their enemies on the road to the Promised Land is the same God leading us today.

So remember, as we face adversities in our life, let remind each other to lean on God for all we need.
